The Laban/Bartenieff movement system is a comprehensive and proven concept that is widely used both in the application and research of dance therapy. Originally developed by Rudolf von Laban and later refined by Irmgard Bartenieff, it promotes body and self-awareness. Through movement observation, it enables in-depth analysis and an understanding of movement coordination, which is crucial for psychophysical development as well as for expressiveness, connection to the world and the functionality of movement. Due to its systematic structure, the system is ideally suited for the systematic assessment of movement and development and thus provides a solid basis for therapeutic interventions.
The first part, LBBS self-reflection, creates the prerequisite (self-awareness as a prerequisite for experiencing the body and getting to know the system through movement experience and movement experience. Only on this basis does the second part, the application, follow.
