Our topic-specific further education courses consist of course combinations from our curriculum for the course leading up to the Federal Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Art Therapy in the field of movement and dance therapy. This training is based on the approaches of the pioneer of dance therapy, Marian Chace (1896-1970), and the further development of the method based on experience and research to date. The method uses movement, non-verbal expression and the group’s dynamics to promote emotional, psychological and social processes. Marian Chace’s work is strongly influenced by psychodynamic principles, the connection between body and mind, and the importance of relationship and communication.
In addition, theoretical references from the work of Irvin D. Yalom, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. These are in particular the existential approach, which focuses on the fundamental challenges of being human – Responsibility, Freedom, Mortality and the Meaning of Life – and interpersonal processes, self-reflection and group dynamics.

This further education program offers you a practical and theoretical basis for teaching creative dance and dance improvisation in a competent and inspiring way, for discovering dance improvisation in all its depth, and for accompanying your students on their journey towards developing their dance skills.
A central component is the introduction (theory, practice, self-reflection) to the Laban-Bartenieff movement system, which enables you to structure your lessons. You will learn to grasp your students’ movements on a motor and psychological level and thereby recognize their individual physical and psychological resources. On this basis, you can plan and implement targeted movement instructions that support and inspire your students.
You will experience how movement improvisation is brought to life through imagination and how it brings parts of the soul into consciousness. as the highlight and you ill undergo a profound process of creating and your on piece of dance with a final performance. In addition, we will provide you with theoretical knowledge in the basics of the psychology of creativity as well as group dynamics (according to Chace and Yalom) and the history and diversity of pedagogy, with a special focus on values, norms and human images.

This specialized training offers you the opportunity to refresh and expand your existing knowledge and practical skills in the Laban-Bartenieff movement system. The focus is on applying the system in therapy processes, particularly in the areas of assessment and intervention tailored to individual client issues.
The course seamlessly combines theoretical foundations and practical approaches. You will gain insights into central aspects of therapy theory, including the different phases of therapy, how to establish and maintain the therapeutic relationship, and how to develop and implement effective treatment strategies through movement.
The Kestenberg Movement Profile offers you a further in-depth examination of emotional development in connection with relationship dynamics – both biographically and within the therapeutic relationship.

Are you a Jungian analyst or a psychologist interested in depth psychology and would like to connect your work with the unconscious knowledge of the body? Would you like to discover how you can utilize this hidden knowledge for your therapeutic practice through the expression of movement and dance?
Or are you a dance therapist and would like to systematically integrate depth psychological dimensions into your work with clients?
In this training course, you will gain a practical and theoretical insight into the Authentic Movement (AM) method, which was developed in the middle of the last century by dance therapy pioneers – including many Jungian analysts. The AM method has been continuously developed and scientifically researched by subsequent generations to this day, so that you can draw on sound knowledge and a broad range of experience.
In the Imagination, Improvisation and Interaction course, you will also learn how unconscious content can be experienced through movement and dance improvisation. In the course Rituals.
